This 6-day tour offers a spiritual and cultural journey through the heart of Punjab, visiting the five important Takht Sahibs— the revered seats of Sikh authority. You will explore the vibrant heritage and deep-rooted history of Sikhism while visiting sacred Gurudwaras and experiencing the local culture, food, and hospitality. The tour is designed for pilgrims and travelers seeking spiritual enrichment and a deep connection with Sikh history and values.
Day 1: Arrival in Amritsar & Visit to Sri Akal Takht Sahib
Arrive in Amritsar and check in to your hotel. Begin your spiritual journey with a visit to the Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the highest temporal authority of Sikhism located in the Golden Temple complex. After paying respects and witnessing the holy ceremony, explore the Golden Temple and its stunning architecture. In the evening, enjoy the peaceful Langar and participate in the beautiful Palki Sahib procession.
Day 2: Amritsar – Taran Taran – Goindwal Sahib – Khadur Sahib – Bhatinda
Start your day with a visit to Taran Taran Sahib, known for its large sarovar (holy pond), followed by a spiritual stop at Goindwal Sahib, where Guru Amar Das introduced the practice of langar (community kitchen). Next, you’ll visit Khadur Sahib, historically significant for its connection to Guru Angad Dev. In the evening, drive to Bhatinda and settle in for the night.
Day 3: Bhatinda – Takht Sri Damdama Sahib – Patiala
In the morning, visit Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, one of the five sacred Takhts of Sikhism. It is where Guru Gobind Singh compiled the final version of the Guru Granth Sahib. After paying your respects, drive to Patiala, a city known for its royal heritage and rich culture. Enjoy a relaxing evening in Patiala.
Day 4: Patiala – Fatehgarh Sahib – Chandigarh
Start the day with a visit to the famous gurdwaras in Patiala before proceeding to Fatehgarh Sahib, a site of great historical significance as it marks the martyrdom of the younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh. After visiting this sacred site, you’ll continue the journey to Chandigarh, a modern city with a unique blend of culture and architecture.
Day 5: Day Excursion to Anandpur Sahib
Today, embark on a day excursion to Anandpur Sahib, the birthplace of Khalsa. The gurdwara here is historically important as it was where Guru Gobind Singh founded the Khalsa in 1699. After spending a spiritually uplifting day, return to Chandigarh for an overnight stay.
Day 6: Chandigarh – Delhi – Departure
After breakfast, drive back to Delhi, bringing your spiritual tour to an end. Depending on your departure time, you may have some time to explore Delhi before your onward journey.
