The 4-day Baisakhi Tour Package is a cultural immersion into the vibrant celebrations of Baisakhi, a festival marking the spring harvest in Punjab. Celebrated with great fervour, Baisakhi is also a significant event in Sikhism, commemorating the formation of the Khalsa by Guru Gobind Singh. This tour provides a blend of cultural events, historic sites, and religious experiences, capturing the energy of the Baisakhi festivities in Punjab.
Day 1: Arrival in Amritsar
Upon arrival in Amritsar, you are transferred to their hotel for check-in and relaxation. In the evening, you will visit the Golden Temple, the holiest shrine in Sikhism, for an enchanting view of the temple lit up at night and the peaceful evening prayers. You can partake in the langar (community meal), an integral part of Sikh hospitality.
Day 2: Baisakhi Celebrations and Cultural Performances
The day begins with an early morning visit to the Golden Temple to witness special Baisakhi prayers. The temple is adorned with lights, and devotees gather in large numbers for the festival’s celebrations. You can experience traditional folk performances like Bhangra and Gidda, capturing the joyful spirit of Baisakhi. The day also includes a visit to local fairs around Amritsar, where traditional Punjabi crafts, foods, and dances are showcased.
Day 3: Amritsar
After breakfast, embark on a city tour, visiting the historic Jallianwala Bagh to learn about the region’s rich history and the poignant events that took place here. In the afternoon, you head to the Wagah Border to witness the famous Beating Retreat ceremony, a patriotic display between India and Pakistan’s border guards.
Day 4: Amritsar Departure
On the final day, you visit a traditional Punjabi village on the outskirts of Amritsar to experience rural life and participate in Baisakhi celebrations at a community level. This includes folk music, farming displays, and an authentic Punjabi meal, giving you a taste of local traditions. Afterward, you are transferred back to Amritsar for departure.
