Gangasagar Puri Yatra
This 7-day tour takes you on a spiritual and cultural journey to Gangasagar and Puri. Starting from Kolkata, you'll experience the divine atmosphere of Gangasagar, where the Ganges meets the ocean, and then move on to the sacred temples of Puri, including the world-famous Jagannath Temple and Konark’s Sun Temple. A serene boat ride on Chilika Lake adds a touch of nature to the trip, making it a holistic experience blending spirituality, history, and natural beauty.
Day 1: Arrival in Kolkata and Sightseeing
Arrive in Kolkata, the gateway to your spiritual journey. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the afternoon exploring some of Kolkata’s key landmarks, such as the Victoria Memorial, Howrah Bridge, and the Dakshineswar Kali Temple. Take the evening to relax, preparing for the spiritual experiences ahead.
Day 2: Kolkata to Gangasagar Excursion
Early in the morning, embark on a day trip to Gangasagar, located on the island of Sagar in the Bay of Bengal, around 100 km from Kolkata. After a drive to Harwood Point, you will cross the river and continue by road to reach the sacred site. At Gangasagar, take a holy dip at the confluence of the Ganga River and the Bay of Bengal, and offer prayers at the Kapil Muni Ashram. Return to Kolkata by evening and relax at your hotel.
Day 3: Kolkata to Bhubaneswar
After breakfast, catch an early morning train or flight to Bhubaneswar, upon arrival, check into your hotel and unwind. In the afternoon, discover Bhubaneswar’s stunning temple architecture, dating back to the 7th -12th centuries AD. Visit Parashurameswar, Mukteswar, Lingaraj, and Rajarani Temples, showcasing intricate carvings and sculptures.
Day 4: Bhubaneswar to Puri
Drive to Puri, stopping at Dhauli (Ashokan Rock Edict and Shanti Stupa), Pipili (Applique Work Village), Sakshigopal (Radha Krishna Temple), and Raghurajpur/Naikpatna (Painting Village). Arrive in Puri and check-in to your hotel. Attend the evening Aalati Darshan at Lord Jagannath Temple, (Non-Hindus (excluding Jains, Sikhs, Buddhists) and foreigners are not permitted to enter the temple.).
Day 5: Puri Temple Tour and Konark Sun Temple
Begin the day with a visit to Gundicha Temple, another important religious site in Puri. Then, proceed to the famous Sun Temple in Konark, a UNESCO World Heritage site, known for its magnificent architecture and intricate stone carvings. On the way back, visit the Chandrabhaga Beach and relax by the shore. Return to Puri for an overnight stay.
Day 6: Excursion to Chilika Lake
Set out on an excursion to Chilika Lake, Asia’s largest brackish water lagoon, renowned for its migratory birds and scenic beauty. Visit Satpada, where you can take a boat ride to spot the famous Irrawaddy dolphins. Spend some peaceful time by the lake, absorbing the natural surroundings, before heading back to Puri for your final night in the city.
Day 7: Puri to Bhubaneswar and Departure
After breakfast, depart for Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha. Arrive and transfer to the airport or railway station for your onward journey back home.
